Competition Application Form 2026

Please ensure that you have read our rules and regulations thoroughly before completing our online application form. Payment must be made at time of application.

 

Note regarding Video Recording: Separate pieces may be recorded and submitted as separate videos. Pieces with multiple movements being submitted must be recorded in one take and submitted as one video.

The deadline for the application is March 31, 2026, 11:59pm PST.

 

By submitting the application, you agree to follow all of the rules and regulations put forth by the Vancouver Youth Music Foundation and Competition. Upon submitting the application, you agree to allow the Competition the right to use your provided images and recordings for promotional purposes and for its archives

Competition Release Agreement


Limitation of Liability

The Vancouver Youth Music Competition (the “Competition”), and the venue(s) hosting any Competition event, shall not be responsible or liable for any personal injury, death, damage, loss, or theft of property, or any other loss of any kind whatsoever sustained by any competitor, attendee, parent, guardian, guest, or other individual participating in or attending the Competition, regardless of cause, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Right to Modify Competition Logistics

The Vancouver Youth Music Competition reserves the unilateral right, at its sole discretion and where reasonably necessary, to relocate any Competition venue, change the Competition date and/or time, alter the Competition format, or expand the Competition into a multi-day event. All changes to originally submitted entries must be made exclusively through the Competition’s designated official registration platform. Verbal requests, informal communications, or email requests shall not be valid or accepted unless expressly authorized in writing by the Competition.

Right to Amend Rules

The Vancouver Youth Music Competition reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to interpret, amend, modify, add to, or remove any rules, regulations, procedures, or policies at any time, as deemed necessary to ensure the proper administration, safety, fairness, and integrity of the Competition.

Right to Cancel or Reschedule

The Vancouver Youth Music Competition reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule any Competition event due to insufficient registration, weather conditions, force majeure events, public safety concerns, venue issues, or any other unforeseen circumstance beyond its reasonable control.
In the event the Competition is cancelled and not rescheduled, the Competition may, at its sole discretion, provide
either:

  • a refund; or
  • a credit toward a future Competition.
    If the Competition is rescheduled, no refunds shall be provided, and all registrations shall remain valid for the rescheduled date.

    Participants are responsible for monitoring the Competition’s official website and the email address used during registration for updates and official notices.


    Media Release and Authorization

    By registering for and participating in the Competition, each competitor, and where applicable their parent or legal guardian, grants the Vancouver Youth Music Competition and its authorized representatives the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right and permission to photograph, record, film, and otherwise capture their name, likeness, image, voice, and performance.

    Participants further grant the Vancouver Youth Music Competition the unrestricted right to use, reproduce, publish, broadcast, distribute, and display such media, in whole or in part, for lawful purposes including, but not limited
    to:
  • promotional materials
  • marketing and advertising
  • websites and social media
  • print publications
  • broadcast media
  • archival purposes without further notice, consent, or compensation.


    All such photographs, video recordings, and other media shall remain the sole and exclusive property of the
    Vancouver Youth Music Competition.




    Release and Waiver

    By participating in the Competition, each participant, and where applicable their parent or legal guardian, fully releases, waives, and holds harmless the Vancouver Youth Music Competition, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, representatives, and affiliated venues from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, costs, expenses, actions, or causes of action arising out of or relating to participation in or attendance at the Competition, except where such release is prohibited by law.



    Binding Agreement

    Participation in the Vancouver Youth Music Competition constitutes full acceptance of this Release Agreement and all Competition Rules, and this Agreement shall be legally binding upon the participant and their heirs, executors, administrators, and legal representatives.
